Levi Roots Caribbean Smokehouse

The infamous Levi Roots creator of Reggae Reggae Sauce on Dragons Den opened up his Caribbean restaurant within Westfield's in Stratford City.

I know we all have had our own experiences when it comes to Caribbean restaurants, most of them have not been very positive (let's be real) however Levi Roots has gone above and beyond to ensure that his menu caters for everyone and dispels the myth of poor customer service and Caribbean food.

One impressive thing about Levi Roots Caribbean Smokehouse was that it is working with a Living Wage Charity and will be accredited as a Living Wage Employer, this is phenomenal because it shows you that Levi Roots and management care about their employees and are aware of the cost of living with London! *round of applause to you guys*

Levi and his team have worked extremely hard to ensure that as soon as you step into the restaurant you are taken away from the doom & gloom of London and you feel that you are back in the Caribbean. The traditional jerk smokehouse, Caribbean music had me bumflicking in my seat and the feel of the restaurant immediately uplifts you this is a very popular restaurant so I suggest that you book your table in advance or get there early!

VENUE

I won't lie it took me a good 10 minutes to find the restaurant only because there are so many restaurants on "The Street" in Westfields, so unless you know your way around Westfields already...be prepared to go the wrong way!

Check out what I ate and my recommendation below:

I would definitely recommend that you all check out Levi Roots Smokehouse to everyone to try, I was really impressed with the whole eating experience and the rum punch stayed with me for the rest of the day! One thing we need to stop doing as Caribbean people is compare to how our gran, grandad, mum, dad and uncle down the street cooks the Caribbean classics, we all cook different ways and it's not supposed to be the same that's the beauty of it just appreciate the good food and support a black business!

I will going back 100% because the rum punch, chicken and dessert was to die for, the fact that Levi Root was on board to speak to us about his journey, his hopes and dreams was beyond inspirational!
